Happy birthday Singapore!
I dont think many are willing to admit that they're patriotic! But Jesslyn See is the direct opposite! She's the best candidate for sg president! --- " Even when i'm in Melbourne, I listened to sg National Day songs and think of home! So vote for me for president!" HAHA! I heard there's a search for a descendant? Jess is totally for it! haha!
Eve was celebrated with steamboatt with ed jess and mel!! Too bad the guys couldnt make it cos it's super nice! Haha without the fact that halfway through steamboating the pot got shortcircuted and we had to use a ricecooker as a substitute! HAHA! Plus the steamboat made us so full that ed kept walking up and down digesting and making most of us feel like puking. HAHA!
The soup was cornyy, the balls were BIG!!, and the chicken rice was hard.
What can i say, we werent masterchef!
But at least it was still swallowable! haha!
Today's a dramatic day!!
Our smoke alarm went off with breakfast cooking by miss gwen! HAHAA! I had no idea pancakes and eggs could make the entire apartment like a smoke bomb! We had to open all the windows and doors - which is freaking cold!!! Luckily no fire bridgage came, if not we'll be a laughing stock! HAHA!
Then after that, we tried using the dishwasher that we later realised it's spoilt.
The entire kitchen part was flooded with soap water!!! hahaha! And no one realised it until my housemate steped into the pool of bubbled water. HAHA!
And lastly, today's vinse 21st birthday ( though it's passes 12am! woops! )
Happy birthday!
So i thought of making tutukueys for him cos he kept complaining bout his cravings for tutukueys! Looking at the recipe, it seems so easy!!
1. Dry roast rice flour for 5 minute with some pandan leaves. Discard the pandan leaves and sift the flour and leave it to cool.
2. Mix the salt in hot water and sprinkle over the rice flour. Rub the water into the flour until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
3. Lightly grease a Putu Piring mould. Fill half the mould with the prepared flour and top with 1 - 2 tsp gula melaka filling and cover with more flour. Place a small piece of pandan leaf over it.
4. Steam for 10 - 20 minutes. Serve with grated coconut if desired

1. So i started with roasting/frying and the flour was CHAO TA!! So my tutukuey is totally brown and not white like those sold in pasa malams. 2. Mixing water seemed easy, but finding the mixture that resembles fine breabcrumbs didnt really tally with what i saw in my bowl of flour. Mine got into a dough!! And so with natural instincts, i put more flour! But still, it doesnt seem like what pasa malam tutukuey aunties use! ( funny- i just realised i never come across tutukuey making uncles! haha! )
3. By this step, i've alr completely given up. We used the sunnysideup eggshape thing as a mould. Seeing the "breadcrumbs" fill the mould, it doesnt even feel like i'm making tutukuey. Maybe more of making nian gao! omg.
4. i dont think i have to mention this step. The pictures tells everything.

Tmr will be the official tasting. Oh god please bless the person who's gna eat those pancake looking tutukueys. May there be enough toilet papers and available toilet seats. I'm actually really worried if the thing is edible. Let's just see yeah! haha!
okok. It's 4:19am here and everyone's asking me to go to sleep! Even those in sg's alr sleeping!!
ttys then! I'll probably post bout tmr's food tasting! hahaha!
Nights!
